Volunteering

Storybook Farm’s ministry impacts many families throughout the area because of our wonderful volunteers. Thanks to their efforts, hundreds of children can experience "Hope on Horseback".

There are several volunteer opportunities available throughout the year. You can work with the children during horseback riding sessions, participate in after riding activities, and/or help with the horses and with tasks around the farm. All volunteers must be at least 14 years old and previous experience is not necessary, but appreciated.

As a session volunteer, you will be assisting children during the riding lessons. You will work as a 3 person team comprised of a leader, and 2 sidewalkers, who help support the child. All volunteers are required to attend an orientation/training before the start of the session.

60 children will be participating in our Spring Session which began the week of February 5th.

Volunteers are also needed for our Easter “Eggstravaganza” on March 13th, an event at Poplar Place Farm the weekend of March 28th, and our 4th Annual Horse Show on April 19th.

Our summer session will begin in late May.

Please email or call us with questions about volunteering: hope@story-book-farm.org or 334-444-5966.

Thanks for being a part of our story!
